Our Resources

Local Collaborative 8 plays a vital role in shaping behavioral health services across our region. We participate in community needs assessments, identify service gaps, and provide recommendations to the Statewide Entity and Behavioral Health Planning Council. Our work focuses on capacity building, resource development, and improving access to care for underserved populations.

We ensure coordination across health and human service systems to avoid duplication and make the best use of limited resources. Through data review, funding feedback, and collaborative problem-solving, LC8 helps strengthen service quality, inform policy, and advocate for the real needs of our communities.

Community Needs & Planning Input

Shaping Behavioral Health Strategies Together
LCs participate in local and regional needs assessments and provide direct input into behavioral health and Human Services (HHS) planning. They act as a bridge between the community and the State Behavioral Health Planning Council to ensure local voices shape statewide strategies.

Service Gap Identification

Highlighting Needs, Setting Priorities
LCs assess and identify behavioral health service gaps within their regions. They recommend funding and program priorities to the Statewide Entity (SE) and state agencies to better address the needs of underserved populations.

Capacity Building & Resource Development

Supporting Growth Where It's Needed Most
LCs assist in building local capacity and developing resources, particularly for underserved groups. They focus on strengthening both formal services and informal, natural support systems within the community.

Systems Coordination & Integration

Maximizing Services, Minimizing Duplication
LCs work across multiple health and human service systems to improve coordination and reduce duplication. This ensures individuals receive efficient, well-aligned care while maximizing limited resources.

Data Review & Feedback

Using Data to Drive Better Outcomes
LCs review service utilization, funding, and outcome data provided by state agencies. They offer critical feedback to improve program effectiveness, ensuring services meet the actual needs of the local population.

Advocacy & Problem-Solving Support

Empowering Change Through Collaboration
LCs offer input on service quality, advocate for training and technical assistance needs, and bring community-based solutions to the table. They help resolve issues raised at the local or state level to drive systemic improvements.
